昨年10月以降、私たちの目前で展開してきたイスラエルによるガザ・ジェノサイドは、シオニズムの入植者植民地主義という歴史的不正義を止められなかった結果だと言えまです。ジェノサイドを一刻も早く停止させ、ガザの荒廃の中からパレスチナ人の人権や民族自決権の回復への一歩を作り出すために何が必要か。歴史的考察はそのヒントとなりえるものです。今回の研究会では、パレスチナ人研究者マジード・シハーデ氏に、パレスチナでの入植者植民地主義の歴史について報告していただきます。

Research Seminar
The Israeli genocide in Gaza since Oct. 7,
2023 remarkably marks a failure of our world to stop the historical injustice of
Zionist settler-colonialism. What is needed for immediate stop of the genocide
and for envisioning a step towards restoring the human rights and right to
self-determination of the Palestinian people out of the devastation of Gaza?
Historical inquiry can provide us with an important key. In this seminar, we
invite a Palestinian researcher Dr. Majid Shihadeh and he will examine the
history of settler-colonialism in Palestine.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Magid Shihad was born in Kafr Yasif near Acre in northern Palestine, the area Israel conquered in 1948. His research focuses on decolonization, settler colonial and indigenous studies, modernity, violence, identity, and the anthropology and politics of knowledge, social and cultural history of Palestine, and the work of Ibn Khaldun. His publication includes his book “Not Just a Soccer Game: Colonialism and Conflict among Palestinians in Israel”(Syracuse University Press, 2012).
